It is now July 25th and we are winding things up and getting ready for the release. Producer Alan Deremo just messaged me a few minutes ago and said he has started mastering each song…it’s a complicated process these days. You have to master the songs for CD production. You have to master them differently for streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music and Pandora. You have to master them differently for people like SoundCloud and for your website. And of course digital downloads in different formats. There is no button to push to make it all happen magically. Alan is painstakingly trying to make sure everything is just right. He is a better man than I.

Also, I just got a big package yesterday from Creston Lea, the author of the short stories these songs were based on. I designed and got printed some cool booklets for a special, limited edition package we’ll be selling on the website soon. The booklets include the lyrics to all the songs, plus one of Creston’s short stories in its entirety. And, of course, all the credits from the album. And photos I have taken along the way of old Motel signs around the country. Creston just hand signed all 250 copies and last night I signed them as well. Took awhile. But they are really cool.

So, as soon as the mastering is done I will be uploading files to all the services and setting a release date. And getting CDs ordered…I’m always a little surprised at how many people still like to buy CDs, but they really do. I might even do a pre-order package…I’ll let you know. In the meantime, thanks for your support and get ready.
